VENTING ABOUT PLUS SIZE CLOTHING for Young Adults!! UUGGHHH

Why can't thick 20 year olds have options instead of Lane Bryant for trendy clothes. I want to wear the same stuff skinny girls wear! Designers make it in our size!!!!Its not fair that unless you're a size 10, you only have 1 or 2 stores in the mall you go to for clothes!!!

  1. Tell me about it! All you see is a bunch of frumpy old shit that your great grandmother would wear from Catherines. I represent the gothy, white chick demographic & I find it amazing that these idiotic companies wouldn't want to cash in on that instead of alienating us!

  3. Babe learn to sew- that was my mums advice to me that i never took (cos though im a naturally creative person I just couldnt be bothered) but i am about to learn and just make it a part of my life....expecting the fashion industry to suddenly start respecting me is pointless. The fashion industry is sizist and doesnt like big women at all.

its a useful skill to have ....just a suggestion though.

  8. Here in the uk women upto a US size 28 can easily get lovely clothes and bigger than that they can get them online easily. Have you tried online? I am a US size 10 but struggle to get clothes to fit due to being broad shouldered large breasted but my waist is like 11 inches smaller than bust/wasit so nothing fits right it all looks like maternity clothing on me.. I know this is different but it might make you feel better about not being able to get clothes to fit nicely. :-)

  15. I totally feel what you're saying! Agree with everything you're saying....... being from NZ we have even less choices when it comes to where big girls shop! It totally sucks coz I love being a thick girl but I don't wana wear old lady/shapeless clothes.

  18. I totally agree! I started sewing my own clothes after being annoyed and frustrated with the options that were availble to young plus sized girls. I hate shopping in ashley stewart and lane bryant. I love my momma but I dont wanna dress like her!

  21. Is shopping online an option? (I know there's more to it than that) Also, I know this is not a good analogy, but while I'm "normal" sized, I have hugemongous feet! lol It is definitely a challenge to find cute and fashionable shoes for my long, skinny, size 11 feet. I hear shopping online can be a good tool.
